Besan kadhi dahi kadhi recipe is a basically yogurt (curd – dahi) and besan (chana dal/ chickpea flour) curry recipe. You could call it a yogurt curry too.
How to make basic Besan kadhi
Ingredients for besan kadhi serving 2-3 persons
- Fresh Plain yogurt a little sour can be used if you prefer – 1 cup
- Water – 2 cups
- Besan chickpea / chana dal flour – 1 tbsp
- Garlic optional – 1/4 tsp – paste or chopped
- Ginger – 1/4 tsp – paste or chopped
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Haldi Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp chopped
- Sugar – 1 tsp – more or less according to taste or to balance the sourness of the yogurt.
Ingredients for the tempering
- Vegetable oil or ghee – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Hing asafetida – a pinch
- Green or red chilies – 1 or 2 according to taste
- Curry leaves – 5-6
