Aloo Poori recipe, also known as Potato Poori or Alu Puri, is a delicious Indian fried bread made with whole wheat flour and boiled potatoes. These soft yet crispy pooris are mildly spiced and taste amazing even without any side dish. Aloo poori is served for breakfast, snack, lunchbox or picnic food.

Main Ingredients
- 1 medium potato aloo – boiled, peeled, and grated
- 1 cup atta whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon rava / sooji / semolina
- ¼ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
- ¼ teaspoon ajwain carom seeds
- ¼ teaspoon jeera cumin seeds
- ⅛ teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon oil for dough
- Oil for deep frying

- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper powder
- ⅛ teaspoon coriander powder
How to Make Aloo Poori – Step by Step
Step 1: Mix Dry Ingredients.
In a bowl, combine whole wheat flour, rava, salt, ajwain, cumin seeds, red chili powder, and optional spices. Mix well.
Step 2: Prepare the Potato
Grate the boiled and peeled potato finely.
Step 3: Add Herbs
Finely chop fresh coriander leaves.
Step 4: Make the Dough
Add grated potato and coriander to the flour mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Step 5: Knead
Add 1–2 tablespoons of water only if required and knead into a tight dough.
Step 6: Rest
Cover and rest the dough for 5 minutes.
Step 7: Roll the Pooris
Divide dough into small balls and roll into round pooris. Apply a few drops of oil if sticking.
Step 8: Fry
Heat oil on medium flame and deep fry pooris until golden brown on both sides.
Step 9: Serve
Drain excess oil and serve hot or at room temperature.
